Top Cut Group has culminated in the restoration of one of the railway's iconic Passenger Carriages SSD2, enhancing the overall passenger experience and preserving the historical significance of the railway.
The Major refurbishment of the Passenger Carriage included significant work to the carriage frame & a completely new shell. The meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail by Top Cut Group have resulted in a beautifully restored carriage that is sure to delight passengers. The passenger carriage will now return to Don River Railways main workshop for its internal fit out, with improvements such as freshly powder coated seat frames, reupholstered leather seating, new wiring & internal refurbishment, it will then have a full mechanical overhaul of the running gear to meet current standards.

The project is of state significance & has been funded by the state government in a bid to return the Don River Railways passenger trains to the north west coast mainline. Taking passengers between Devonport & Penguin on a regular basis.
